What You Can Expect

At Dr. Randy’s office, we are committed to making your child’s first visit both informative and comfortable. From the moment you step through our doors, our goal is to create a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere for both parents and patients.

With over 25 years of experience, you can rest assured that your child is not just seeing a family dentist. Every child at our office is treated by a board-certified Pediatric Specialist who understands the unique needs of young patients.

Preparing

for Your Visit

To help your child feel comfortable before their visit, we recommend watching familiar and educational videos, such as Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, which has episodes about visiting the dentist. You can also practice laying back at home to simulate the dental chair experience and help your child feel more at ease.

This helps Dr. Randy and our staff get to know your child better and provide personalized care.

What Your Children Can Expect

We recommend scheduling your child’s first visit when their first tooth emerges or by their first birthday. Dr. Randy even offers a complimentary Free Well Baby Screening for children up to 18 months old!

We focus on creating a positive and fun environment for your child:

Using kid-friendly language and silly euphemisms like “sugar bugs” and “tooth tickles” to explain dental care.

Avoiding terms that might sound intimidating, such as “needle,” “pull,” or “drill.”

Our Approach to Dental Anxiety

We understand that some children may feel nervous or display fearful behavior during their dental visits. This is completely normal, especially for young children encountering a new experience. Our team specializes in making those early visits as smooth as possible. A key point to remember is that children under the age of five are typically pre-cooperative, and their first reaction to an unfamiliar situation is often fear. We aim to partner with parents to create the most positive experience possible for your child. We welcome parents into our office to help educate and guide them through this process.

Building Good Habits Early

We believe that healthy habits start early. During your first visit, we’ll take the time to:

Educate both parents and children about proper brushing and flossing techniques.

Discuss the importance of a healthy diet for dental health.
